Saigon Fast Food
About This Spot
Stepping into Saigon Fast Food feels like crossing a quiet threshold from bustling Greenville into a familiar corner of Vietnam. This unassuming spot hums with the gentle rhythms of family life and tradition, where the pace slows just enough to savor the moments behind the counter and the flavors in every bowl.
The modest space is painted in soft shades reminiscent of small hometown eateries in rural Vietnam, creating a welcoming backdrop where every detail—from the clink of real chopsticks to the warmth of the owners’ smiles—invites you to settle in and unwind. There’s a quiet joy in watching the kitchen’s harmony, as fresh herbs, fragrant broths, and carefully rolled spring rolls come together with a sense of care that’s rare to find.
This is a place designed for lingering over meals that feel like home—whether it’s the rich, soothing warmth of a bowl of pho tailored just how you like it, the bright crispness of a papaya salad with a subtle kick, or the comforting simplicity of steamed dumplings handed directly from the kitchen. Tea and coffee here carry their own quiet ritual; a Vietnamese iced coffee offers a sweet, cooling contrast that lingers long after the last sip.
Over the years, Saigon Fast Food has become more than just a restaurant—it’s a steady presence in the neighborhood where familiarity grows with each visit. The owners, a family bound by both tradition and hospitality, make every meal feel personal, welcoming returning faces and newcomers alike with a practice of genuine kindness that feels almost as satisfying as the food itself.
Here, the experience is less about rushing through lunch or dinner and more about embracing a moment of connection—between flavors that are lovingly authentic, between people, and between cultures brought together in one cozy corner of Greenville.

UPDATE: we’ve been eating here since 2011 and the wonderful couple still remember us and our son. The food is amazing by any Vietnamese standard, authentic and very spicy if needed. They always welcome us and deliver incredible food and warmth of character. So happy to see they made it through the pandemic!! This place has wonderful food and is run by a small family of three. The owners take time to talk and catchup on life, while the food is being made, and the food is consistently great. They have items that aren't found at a lot of similar style restaurants, such as Red Clam Phó. Amazing food, great people and reliable!

Incredible Vietnamese food. I had the Pho with tender and well seasoned beef. It was some of the best I have had outside of Vietnam. My partner had the chicken lo mein and it was fantastic as well. The flavors were so good and the noodles were perfectly cooked and tender. I would recommend for any sort of Asian cuisine you are craving. They have a great menu with very reasonable prices. The owner is a very kind and generous Vietnamese lady who confided that tariffs had been effecting her business. Would love to see them get more support!!

I was searching for something to heal my Vietnamese soul and quell my hunger pangs, the kind that only a bowl of phở is capable of doing. My wife just wanted a Bánh Mi and we happened upon this hole in the wall. We enter and I immediately get hit with nostalgia. The pink and blue paint that I familiarized with other small restaurants in rural parts of Vietnam, the chef was watching a C-drama dubbed in Vietnamese on YouTube, and the decor that really solidified the promise of what was to come from this honest cuisine. I order the Combination Phở, which has everything, but I asked for extra tendon, just how I prefer. My wife got the Pork Bánh Mi. The sauces at the table available were perfect for making my meat dip, they had it all: Hoison, Sriracha, hot chili sauce, fish sauce, and soy sauce. The food arrives and a quick gander at it, I knew, this is exactly where I was meant to be. I asked for a share bowl, so my wife could try the broth with me at the same time. and my god. It's like I traveled back in time to having noodles with my grandparents at some not too shabby corner shop that doesn't exist anymore. But that broth will give you life haha. The steak, the shank, the tripe, the tendon, just everything was perfect. Talk about Beef Noodle Soup for the Soul. My wife enjoyed her sandwich, just a simple kicker that everyone needs. I ordered a Cà Phê Sữa Đá, Vietnamese Iced coffee, because you simply gotta have that after you're done. Stellar drink, a perfect pairing with a Marlboro Red short, because you gotta do it for the culture. It's probably not the greatest looking place for most, probably not the most proper one for many, but if you get over yourself, I trust you'll enjoy your time here. I felt like I was home in San Diego for a moment, early 2000s, just a boy having noodles with his Grandpa. Exchanging short sentences in Vietnamese with the owners, but they speak English, don't you worry, whom are lovely and wonderful. Hell yeah, I'll come back every time I'm in town. and if you live here, eat here. There's no gimmicks or flashy menu, just some folks trying to share the culture with you and you're invited to. Also, to comment about the other reviews. You know, the rule of thumb for searching for quality Chinese restaurants is finding the 3.5 star rating, as per Freddie Wong's tik tok science. I use the same for Vietnamese restaurants. Culturally, in Vietnam, wait service is entirely different than here in the states, there's not much for an attentive server, especially here at this humble eatery ran by a single couple. You waive them down to order, you waive them down to pay, some things have to be explicitly stated or they won't get done: exceptions apply, of course. And to the naysayer reviews, don't be a snob and anticipate cultural differences.

Small hole in the wall but great tasting food. I had never tried Vietnamese food before and was pleasantly surprised by this place. We tried the pho combination beef and a combination rice. Both supreme, hearty portions and good value. Attended by the owners themselves, who take care of the details and are attentive to their customers. A very good option.
